Benefits

  • Highly scratch and stain resistant. No varnish or waxing needed. Laminate is ideal as a long-lasting floor solution for high-traffic homes with kids or pets. Water-resistant and waterproof styles are also available.
  • May be installed over many different types of existing floors. As a floating floor, laminate may be installed over wooden subfloors, ceramic tile and even concrete slabs.
  • Affordable and easy to replace. Unless you want to purchase an imitation of a more exotic variety of hardwood flooring, laminate does not feature much price variation in styles. Laminate installation also costs less than hardwood or tile, further reducing the total price tag of your flooring project.
  • Easy to clean. Laminate flooring should be spot cleaned with a warm damp cloth between more expansive cleanings with a laminate floor cleaner.

All flooring solutions at Di’s Floor Centre have a green certification and have low or no VOC emissions. We also offer hypoallergenic and all-natural products for customers who experience allergies or chemical sensitivities.

Things to think about…

Laminate is water resistant, and in some cases waterproof. If you purchase a water-resistant style, it will start to swell if water is left on its surface for an extended period of time. For this reason, we recommend taking a look at sheet vinyl or luxury vinyl flooring if you intend to install new flooring in your bathroom, mudroom or entryway.

When you buy a high-quality, dense laminate floor, your floor will hold up very well over time. It’s good to keep in mind that compromising on the quality of this product may mean that you also compromise on its resistance to damage. Not all laminate is created equal, so let the flooring experts at Di’s Floor Centre guide you to the right laminate for your needs.
